Hello, hello! Hope you had a blessed Easter! Today was especially hard to get back in to the swing of things–given all the candy I ate yesterday, and the food coma that resulted!
Even though this was a busy weekend, I managed to get in a couple of easy spray paint projects to share with you this week!
First up, a thrift store candelabra make-over. I could kick myself (hard!) because I did not take before pictures of this one! To give you an idea, it was all brass, and it was meant to sit on a table top.
Such an easy project, and only took a couple of hours including dry time.
First, I unscrewed the candle bases off and spray painted the whole thing in a satin black (Rustoleum), and covered it in about 2 coats.
Then I went to Home Depot and bought some chain link that is sold by the foot for about 99 cents/ft. I have high ceilings so I got 4 lengths of 4 ft each, so this was a total of about $16 (did that with no calculator folks-ha!!), and it was already black– double score!
Simply looped the chain link on over each arm (is it called an ‘arm’? I’m no candelabra expert so don’t judge me!) and screwed the bases back on (don’t know if ‘base’ is the proper term either? You get my drift!)
Got the hubs (a.k.a. ‘hunky assistant’) to anchor a small hook (which I had sprayed black) from the ceiling and hung it up! Supa easy breezy! Added some inexpensive white tapers to it, and done!

Great finished look for this corner of my living room!

I’ve seen similar hanging candelabras like this one for $100 or more:

Not bad in comparison, huh? Especially considering the huge savings! Cha-ching!
Have you done something similar to this hanging candelabra project? Would love your feedback on this one!
Come back tomorrow for the second part of “Fun With Spray Paint”! Ooh, can you stand it?!

Looks great! I looked for a hanging candelabra for quite a while before buying one from Kirkland’s. This looks better, and the price is so much better, too. I’m really disgusted with the one I bought. All the arms are crooked and when I tried to straighten, one broke off! I turned it to the back, but it still makes me mad. Anyway, great job on the redo! :)
