Vegas Vacation {Family Style} Part 2

This post is partially #sponsored by the Hash House A Go-Go, all opinions are 100% mine

Yesterday I told you about my family’s Vegas Vacation, {click here to read that post}!

Here’s more on our trip…

That evening, I had what will officially be known as the one of the BEST MEALS EVER {and biggest}! We headed to the Hash House A Go Go right across the street at the Plaza hotel.  There is a TON of eating to be done in Vegas, I knew this already, but this place takes the cake, literally.

You’ll Want To Go..to the Hash House A Go Go!

The staff was expecting us and greeted us with warm smiles.  Our waiter Bryan was really cool!  He brought us our menus and immediately warned us about the portion sizes.  We are eaters, so we said something to the tune of ‘bring it on!’.  Oh and did he!

We started out with a delicous “Kiwi Watermelon Lemonade”, which boasted a huge watermelon wedge, and a straw that was about 1/2″ in diameter.  It was so refreshing for those hot Vegas nights and so delicious.  I could taste every layer..yumm!

Then they brought us a bowl of beautiful Cornbread muffins.  They were as big as my head and oh my gravy were they amazingly good!  We each had just a little of them to save some room for the main dish.  After seeing the size of these muffins I sort of started to believe Bryan’s warning about the plate sizes.  :)

Oh and was he ever right!

Our dishes were GINOURMOUS!  I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the hubs ordered the Sage Fried Chicken Linguine and that was served in what we would normally consider to be a serving bowl.  Definitely would’ve been enough to satisfy all of our tummies! So very gooood!

The kids also got their fill of yumminess!  There was REAL bacon in those waffles people!

It was a tough choice because the Hash House A Go Go menu is chock full of so many fantastic dishes, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert..

You didn’t think we’d skip out on dessert and coffee did ya?  Nonsense!  We ordered the Cheesecake and it was out of this world!

They consider their dishes to be ‘twisted farm food’, or fresh foods with a creative flair—and it was right on!

The food was fantastic, the service was wonderful, what more can I ask for?

And our server Bryan shared with us that he’s a competitive eater!  He said he’s completed several challenges including the the 6 pound burger at the nearby Heart Attack Grill.

{Where does he put it all?}

Fabulous food, fabulous service!  Stop by the Hash House A Go Go when you visit Vegas (you can find them in  several other cities across the US too), then come back and thank me! :)

After our great dinner, we headed out to the famous Las Vegas strip for a stroll.  We parked at the Mirage hotel which is located right in the middle of the strip.

We took the kids to the Vegas Strip at Night

So here’s the thing about taking the kids out at night to Vegas…if you know where to go, you’ll be JUST FINE!  We walked a few blocks and were able to get some great entertainment, and best of all–it was totally free!

We stopped at the front of the beautiful Bellagio hotel and took in their water show.  It’s breath taking and definitely a must if you’re visiting Las Vegas, day or night!

The kids loved it and as for me and the hubs, it just never gets old.

We walked through the Bellagio and window shopped and the fancy high end shops.  Later we made our way back to the Mirage to watch the Volcano ‘erupt’.  This is a show offered nightly, every hour from 7-11 p.m.  It’s full of explosions, fireballs, and loud music!  Needless to say the kids had a blast!

I think we walked off some of our giant meal and by this time we were all exhausted and decided to head back to the hotel.

The next day, we went to the Hoover Dam, and later checked out The History Channel’s Pawn Stars shop!  Come back soon for the full scoop!
