We live in a fast paced world, and some days it feels like in my house we travel at the speed of light. My husband and I both work full time, and with kids and their activities, church, and everything else, life is HECTIC! At times my job keeps me so busy that when I finally have time to pick up the house or do a load of dishes, I’m all out of energy!
Dinner for Two with Stouffer’s Satisfying Skillets
Lately my husband has really pitched in around the house, keeping things tidy and clean. For this neat-freak, that beats flowers any day of the week! Although he’s come home with those too :)
He’s an amazing man and I’m so blessed to have him!
I thought we deserved a little time away, just the two of us..’away’. You know, far…. down the stairs, make a right, pass the sink, hang a left. That’s right, we are going to have a date-night ‘in’! You may already know this but when you’re married with children, any time alone is a gift. I knew he’d like this! The idea of driving anywhere, paying a bunch, and maybe even wearing shoes is definitely NOT on his radar when he’s tired!
I’d like to have planned an elaborate meal, but these days, who has the time? I picked up a Stouffer’s Satisfying Skillets Grilled Asiago Chicken and Penne Pasta at Walmart and gave it a go.
Yumm! The hubs is a big fan of pasta so I knew he’d love the Grilled Asiago Chicken.
It took us about 15 minutes or so to prepare this tasty meal together.
Stouffer’s Satisfying Skillets are a healthy and convenient option, and for a small fraction of the cost of a dinner ‘out’ at around $6 a bag!
Paired with a little wine and a fresh roll, our dinner was complete. Oooh so good!
Afterwards we spent time enjoying each other’s company as we caught up on our day in the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere set up in our very own home.
We forgot about our hectic day to day, and took the time to engage, interact, listen, laugh, and just dote on one another.
If you ask me, there is no better way to spend a ‘date night’ with the one you love.
What do you do to show your appreciation to the one you love?

EVen the tablescape is nice…. I’m guilty of leaving the sippy cup out, or maybe a matchbox car in the background. For, um, you know… ambiance. Yeah, that’s it!!
Barbara @ Chase the Star says
Lindsey, Thank you! well I didn’t want to pan out and show you the Ninja Turtles lurking near by haha! You can ignore those things if you really focus on your significant other!
