Add A Rug For An Easy Room Update

banner-wayfair

Over the summer we updated all of the flooring downstairs.  We went from half carpet and half cheap laminate (installed by the previous owner), to beautiful wood tile. Not only were we finally free of the dingy carpet, but also from thresholds, seams, and all other divisive barriers that broke up the fluidity of the space.  Once the new floors were installed, we were instantly in love with the look. The space seemed larger, there was a great flow from room to room, without the harsh lines that the carpet and laminate combo created.

Wood Tiles look just like real wood, but much easier to maintain!

Not to mention how easy it was to clean and maintain overall. We made a great choice! The house felt really cool and clean.

Actually a little to too cool, maybe even a little ‘cold’. I was starting to wonder how I could add a little ‘warmth’ to the space. Nope, I didn’t want the carpet back, but I knew it’d be great to have a soft space for the dog to lie, the kids to wrestle on, and our bare feet to cozy up to. Adding a rug to this stark area was the perfect solution! After searching for several weeks, I found the perfect rug at the Home Dynamix collection from Wayfair.

I knew we made a good decision the second I rolled it out. Our new rug is durable, and looks great! The room now has cohesion, and most important to me, it’s warm. Our dog Abbey thinks this is her rug, but she is kind enough to share with the rest of us.

Isn’t it amazing how easy it can be to change the entire feel of your room, just by or adding a rug? My family room feels cozier and more inviting now.

Head to Wayfair to check out their entire selection of rugs!
