We don’t get full seasons here in southern California, but I can certainly feel the slight crisp in the air, and the “pumpkin” everything all around. To me though, as to many of us, fall is synonymous with family.
There are lots of opportunities to gather with relatives over a home cooked feast, or even just enjoy our closest loved ones on any given fall night with a cozy fire, a board game and other comforts from home.
My favorite fall pass time is just quiet time at home with my husband and the boys sipping our favorite, Pumpkin Spiced Hot Chocolate, with a scented candle filling the room with the aroma of autumn.
I cherish these moments with my family, and realize just how blessed I am to have them.
I wish I could have everyone over for a delicious mug of my Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate. This recipe is very easy to make with ingredients most of us have in our pantries, so let’s whip up a cup to share!
Ingredients:
I cup half and half
2 cups milk
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice
1/4 teaspoon ginger spice

In a sauce pan heat the half and half and milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Pour the milk mixture over the chocolate chips and stir well until they are completely melted. Add in the vanilla and spices.Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon.
