Hey there! I’m Chelsea, I blog over at Making Home Base where I share DIY projects, crafts, and the occasional delicious dessert. I’m so excited to be hanging out with you guys today at Chase The Star! I adore Barbara so it’s an honor to be here :)
A little about me; I’m a military wife and and stay and home mama. I spend my days chasing my toddler and decorating my military base house on a budget. Everyday is really a joy!
Now, shall we get to the project? With back to school just around the corner I want to share with you an idea for a Back to School Teacher Gift! Teachers are truly amazing and deserve so much appreciation. Why not give them a little something to start off the year?
Pencil Vase {Back to School Teacher Gift}
One thing I know teachers can always use is pencils! I thought it would be fun to create a little vase or pencil holder made of what else but, pencils. It’s super cute, and useful at the same time. The best part? It’s a nice budget friendly project that you can make in a hurry.
All you’ll need is a container of some sort., your glue gun, and a few boxes of pencils.
I used a dollar store glass vase but you could use an old coffee can, or jar you have laying around. Pencils are really cheap right now with all the back to school sales. I managed to get 6 boxes for a couple dollars.
Make sure your container is clean and dry. Then start hot gluing your pencils to the container. I hot glued the side of the pencil that had the stamp on it so you can’t see the “No. 2 Pencil” stamp.
Keep hot gluing your pencils until you get all the way around your container. It took about 38 pencils to cover my glass vase.
Once you get all the pencils in place, you can fill your container with whatever you like. I filled mine with extra pencils. I think it would be cute to fill it with other school supplies, candy, or even flowers!
Lastly, tie a sweet little ribbon around the middle and your teacher gift is ready to go!
Thank you so much for allowing me to share with you today! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your summer and a smooth transition to back to school!
