Happy Labor Day, AND happy Fall! Although it’s technically not here yet, it is September, kids are back to school and pumpkins are starting to pop up here and there..I’m in a fall state of mind! I went to Michaels this weekend and picked up a few items to get my fall decor started, first up, my Orange and Black Fall Wreath!
I’m not a big Halloween decorator, but I think this will work well for that and even through to Thanksgiving.
Want to make it? Follow these directions:
Materials:
Twine wreath
2 Thick Burlap ribbon, chevron orange, and black striped
Glue gun and sticks
Mod Podge and applicator brush (optional)
Sharp scissors (I adore my Fiskars Amplify scissors)
Large monogram letter (big enough to fit on the inside of your twine wreath)
Directions:
Place strips of the chevron ribbon onto your monogram, and wrap it like you would a gift, securing it with the glue. Tip: cut the rough edges off of the ribbon to make the strips as seamless as possible.
Optional: Once the entire letter is ‘wrapped’ dab it with the Mod Podge to keep it from moving or weathering in the elements.
Glue your letter onto the front center of the wreath.
Make a bow with the black striped ribbon and glue it to the bottom right or center of the wreath. Glue some of the same ribbon and wrap it around the opposite side of the wreath for a little balance.
Hang it on your front door, and welcome Fall!
A very simple way to ring in the fall season! How are you getting your home ready for fall?
