This post is brought to you by Kiwi Crate, all thoughts and opinions are 100% mine. #ad
Hey friends! My 5 year old is one lucky little guy. He was given the chance to create and explore with a Kiwi Crate, all because his Mommy’s a blogger (you’re welcome son)!
Kiwi Crate Review
A Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription service, targeted at young kids around ages 3-7. They deliver a box of fun to your doorstep every month. Each box is designed around a certain theme (i.e., dinosaurs, superheroes, space, etc.). Every month your child receives 2-3 carefully designed and kid-tested projects, covering a range of developmental areas and subjects, including art, science, and imaginative play. Everything you need to encourage creativity and curiosity in your kids are included!
This month’s theme is ‘Nature Explorer’.
The first project is a ‘collection box’. There are several options for the Collection Box, we chose the scavenger hunt. He was able to assemble and decorate the box {with Mom’s help}, and then went outside to ‘hunt’!
Pretty good job if you ask me! Although at first he came in with a giant pile of teeny rocks. Um, so I had him go out and pick ONE medium sized rock.
Much better:)
He had a great time exploring in the yard!
The next project was a Starlight Lantern.
The box included a star shaped hole punch which my little guy thought was the best thing ever!
The Kiwi Crate contained everything we needed to assemble a pretty little lantern. including a battery operated tea light candle!
This one was a hit! It was still light out when we worked on these projects but I went in to a closet to show you guys how cool it looks in the dark!
Generally my son isn’t really into ‘crafts’. He’d much rather go outside and toss a ball or run around playing with other kids. So it was a huge surprise to me that he not only wanted to create these fun Kiwi Crate projects with me, but he loved them! He wanted to make another lantern {so his big bro can have his own}, and camp out in the yard! I’ll have to plan a camping in the yard play date before summer ends!
The Kiwi Crate included a ‘Nature Explorer’ pamphlet with more ideas for night exploration! It talks about how when people way back when looked up at the sky they imagined pictures in the stars and created stories. This is followed by several of the ‘stories’. We will have to ‘explore’ these fun imaginitive tales when we camp out in our yard this summer!
The Kiwi Crate included a fun gift too! Playing cards! Oh yes, another thing that will come in handy come camping time. :)
The Kiwi Crate is just $19.95 a month! Guess what?
Use coupon code ‘Chase25’ to get 25% off of your first month of a monthly subscription!
{Expires 7/30/13}
You can purchase a monthly subscription or just buy one crate at a time if you like! If you have children ages 3-7 at home, they will enjoy this! I know because the pickiest kid in all the land has given it his seal of approval, and he happens to be MY kid!
Have you tried out the Kiwi Crate? What kind of things do your kids like to explore?
