Even before you were fully awake from your turkey comas, most of you made your way to the stores, holiday shopping list in hand, to grab a great deal. I know this because I saw you all on the news! All over the world it seems shoppers hit the stores in many cases on Thursday night to score some sweet Black Friday deals. How’d you do? I know for many of you it was well worth it. I can honestly say though that I didn’t bother this year. First of all I was too pooped after Thanksgiving to go anywhere, and then on Friday I did not want to miss my chance to sleep in, so I didn’t! I regret it a wee bit because it does look like I missed out some amazing steals but, I didn’t miss out completely. See, before Thanksgiving I hit Walmart and picked up a few items to throw together in gift baskets and whatnot. While at Walmart I snagged a great deal on boxes of GODIVA chocolate, this was a no-brainer because I have a few people in my life that are hard to shop for, but I know GODIVA will never disappoint!
See, my husband is very difficult to shop for. He has very picky taste. He wears only a handful of colors, and a very specific style that after 12 years of marriage I just can’t pinpoint (read: frustrating!). Just when you think this shirt or that pair of pants is neutral enough, baggie enough, soft enough etc., to please him, he will always find something that isn’t quite perfect and will end up returning it. I don’t get hurt feelings (anymore ha!), I just let him do it and little by little have backed off on gifts that require too much thought. He’s pleased that I didn’t spend much, and that he doesn’t have to return anything. Everyone is happy! This year he is getting a simple gift basket with a cute plush winter moose, and a GODIVA Assorted Milk Chocolates gift box. I am pretty sure that the moose will end up in the kid’s room, but I KNOW that the GODIVA chocolates will end up exactly where I want them, in his tummy!
This was simple–I used holiday ribbon to wrap around the moose’s neck to mimic a scarf. I love the trendy checkered pattern on this one! Placed the moose in a wire basket with a burlap lining (very masculine) from the craft store and then placed the box of GODIVA chocolates front and center. You can also add a bottle of wine and wine glasses if your guy is into that. I kept mine simple because like I said, he’s very picky!
Mmmm, I hope he shares with his wifey :)
GODIVA Assorted Milk Chocolates gift box will make my hubs happy this holiday season! Its a great gift giving idea for any dude in your life. Visit Walmart this holiday season for GODIVA Chocolate Gift Boxes. Available in three 9PC varieties and also a 15PC Dark All-of-a-Kind (while supplies last).
This Black Friday weekend I relaxed at home, decorated for Christmas, and made a few DIY gift baskets. Today, or as some call it “Cyber Monday”, I will get my shopping on, BIG TIME! All from the comforts of my home, in my jammies. Cup of coffee in hand, while indulging on one or five GODIVA chocolates…yes, of course I bought an extra box for myself! Now That’s what I call holiday shopping!
….’Til next time!
