DIY Soap Dispenser Update

kitchen, soap dispenser, dispenser, soap, bottle, glass, makeover, update, holiday
Hi friends!  Can you feel it?  The holidays are upon us!  Is it me or did this year just fly by?  Wasn’t it just Easter?  They say that time seems to go by faster as you age.  So um, with a birthday coming up this month, I guess I’m officially ‘aging’..blah!
These days we’re getting ready for Thanksgiving so I thought I’d spruce up some accessories in my kitchen, which is where quite a bit of the traffic will be that day.
This weekend I worked on updating this thrift store dispenser, where I store my dish soap.  I love the shape and the aged bronze pump, but the green glass was just not working for me anymore.
This was a very quick and easy update!
If you have about 30 minutes you can make over a boring dispenser in time for any gathering!

Soap Dispenser Makeover

Here’s what you need:
Gloss white spray paint
2″ vinyl stickers
Old glass dispenser, or bottle
First I cleaned the piece well and removed the pump.
Using the same method as when I made over my son’s chair, I applied the lettering and painted the bottle.

For some interest, I thought I’d vary the sizes in some of these pre-made vinyl letters so I used the ‘$’ symbol for the “S”, which is significantly shorter (cutting off the top and bottom lines).  Also, I cut the stem of the “P” down a bit to match the “S”.
Super simple update in less than 30 minutes!
I know this is just small change, but it’s little updates like this that can make a big difference!  Since I have all of my recipes lined up for Thanksgiving, I’ll continue to work the smaller details in the kitchen and elsewhere around the house this week–make sure to come back to check them out!
How are you preparing your home for Thanksgiving Day?

Love it B! I love the top of this thing… yes, I need to go thrift shopping with you too… I can only ever find ugly lamps and cheap plastic picture frames. Ugh.
