I took a mini and informal poll on my facebook page last week as to whether you (my awesome readers) would rather see an update my boy’s bedroom, or my craft closet. It was a dead tie! Since the new Land of Nod store is opening up in my neck of the woods (South Coast Plaza in OC, CA) on May 31st, I can’t help but to head out there and update the kid’s room first {stay tuned for the craft closet update}.
Their room is navy, grey, and cranberry red. That’s how I ‘momitize’ it anyway. They would just tell you it’s red, grey, and blue, or ‘Red Sox’ colors. They’ve had the same ‘baseball’ theme for years, and if left up to their own little devices then it’ll stay like that till college. I’m working on it.
I have to be sort of sneaky. I can’t just change their entire room in one setting, for fear that they’ll be on to me (haha!) so little by little I will introduce pieces that will work well with their wall colors (navy and grey) and their accent color, cranberry (‘momitized’), but that doesn’t have a baseball on it, and that they’ll like just as much. That’s my plan anyway!
I’ve never actually been to a physical Land of Nod store (just an online shopper), so I’m excited to check it out when they open nearby and hopefully get something different for my boy’s bedroom!
I’ve been browsing through their site (of course I want everything).
Take a look at what I’ve come up with so far and let me know what you think!
First up is storage, cause these kids have tons of stuff!
This one comes in red too, but I’m digging the ‘azure’!
Or this beaut in navy….loving it paired with orange!
Next up is some Land of Nod bedding, which I think will make the most impact with minimal effort:
All of the Red Sox colors are safely represented, with a little pale teal and burnt orange mixed in :)
This one I love because of the modern horizontal stripes and the navy!
I’m crushing on stripes lately in case you hadn’t noticed.
Lastly a couple of subtle accessories…
I love these letters! They sell these individually so you can spell out anything you like, but this wording would be perfect for my guys since one is ‘big’ and the other is ‘little’. So sweet! I must have them.
For my ‘little’ guy, who loves all things that live in the ocean. Also for my ‘big’ guy to keep track of his social calendar.
Just for fun, we can add a little chevron zebra!
I’m having a blast and I’m not even at the store yet! If you’re in the Southern California area, stop by the grand opening of the new Land of Nod store at South Coast Plaza this May 31! There will be some fun giveaways happening in store throughout the opening day, and if you get there early to shop there will be free goodies!
If you want more info on the Grand Opening, or about the store in general look them up on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!
I will be shopping there really soon, I can’t wait to share all my adventures (and pics) with you! I bet I’ll find more options at the store that I’ll fall in love with.
Follow me on Instagram for the play by play (forgive the sports pun) :)
If you’re in Socal and will be at the Grand Opening, let me know on Facebook (or leave a comment here).
Are your kids in need of a room makeover?
