Hey there! I made a quick, healthy, and super tasty snack for the fam bam this weekend, and they loved it {Mom scores}!
Kale Chips!
I’m not going to lie, I had to convince a few unnamed members of the family to try these, because frankly they don’t look like ‘chips’. But if your kids crave something crunchy and salty after school, and you want to keep them eating right, then try Kale Chips!
You can whip some up over the weekend, or just before they get home from school.
Ingredients:
Fresh kale
Extra-Virgin Olive Oil {2-3 tbsp.}
Garlic Salt or Sea Salt
I like to buy the freshest produce I can, so I used Cal-Organic kale. Cal-Organic has been dedicated to organic farming and maintaining a balance with nature for over 25 years. The business is family owned and operated, and promotes family values and integrity every day to constantly advance the technology of organic agriculture to the highest levels.
Directions:
Preheat your over to 275.
Wash the kale thoroughly, and pat dry.
Remove it from the ribs and cut it into bite size pieces.
Spread it out in a large cookie sheet.
Drizzle the olive oil over it and sprinkle with the salt.
The kale will reduce in size as it cooks.
Place it in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until crisp.
The Kale Chips are yummy, and so nutritious! Pair with a cold glass of milk and you have a fantastic after school or anytime snack. Kale Chips can even serve as a great side dish for any meal..hmm trying that next! What healthy after school snacks are you making your kids? Easy Kale Chips for a healthy snack! Preheat your over to 275. Wash the kale thoroughly, and pat dry. Remove it from the ribs and cut it into bite size pieces. Spread it out in a large cookie sheet.
