Although I didn’t have much growing up, I was blessed with 3 square meals a day, nothing fancy, but I never went hungry. As a mother I strive along with my husband to keep plenty of food in the house–the pantry, fridge and freezer are always full. If you don’t find what you want there, go ahead and check the OTHER fridge in the garage. That is the standard of life here in the U.S., but did you know that despite our excesses, there are still so many hungry kids that go to bed hungry, right in your own community?
We are privileged to be able to stop at stores like Sam’s Club every few weeks to stock up. Just last weekend, I picked up a 5 lb. bag of Tyson Chicken Nuggets, a 12 pack of 7.5 oz. KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese, and a case of 40 Capri Sun Juice Drinks! That should last less than a month in our house of 2 active and growing boys! There was a demo of all of these products while I was there and you know I went ahead and had me a little sample (check out my Instagram pic), yummm!
I bought those items because I have a couple of bottomless pits to feed, but also because by purchasing those select products at Sam’s Club in the month of August, you can help a child in need! Tyson and KRAFT is donating 6fl. oz of Capri Sun Juice Drink, 4oz. of protein, and /or 2.5 oz. of KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinners, that can feed a kid in need!
My kids know that they are blessed. Not that we are rich or anything like that, but they know that there are so many that literally go ‘without’. Helpless kids that didn’t choose to be in that position. They pray for them, and know that donating food to organizations that help kids is crucial. We are actively seeking a local community based organization to give food, clothes, and more. They have a heart to help and that makes this Mama so proud!
YOU CAN HELP TOO!
Stop by your local Sam’s Club on August 23 or 24th and attend the demo and purchase the products to help kids in need!
You can find all of the products near the demo, or just head to the aisles and locate them in their usual spots.
What can you do in your community to be a Hunger Hero?
