When we first bought our home it was a hodge podge of about 100 different decor styles, none of which made much sense. The thing I was most puzzled about was the window treatments or lack thereof. The living room has great wood blinds, the rest of the house had either really bad old fashioned drapes left behind or nothing at all. I replaced all of the curtains and left the blinds in the living room. The one room that I have always been most concerned with is my boys’ room. I put great curtains in there but if they want to let a little light in then they lose privacy. See, their room faces the front of the house and this mama bear wants to keep them safe and protected so I am on the hunt for new blinds. I headed to Lowes to check out Levolor blinds. I love the look of their Premium Faux Wood Cordless Blinds. As a mom of young boy, cordless is an important safety feature to consider. Lowes carries these exclusively, and they can be cut to size at the store.
Why Levolor you ask? Well, Levolor offers a no-risk exchange and a full 10 year warranty, that’s their pledge. This will get my kids through their college years! I got to Lowes and was surprised at the vast selection of Levolor blinds!
It was a little daunting at first but I asked for help and was shown right to the Faux Wood Cordless blinds that I coveted :) They look so pretty and sturdy, I was excited to grab a box and run but I couldn’t find the correct size! See I had measured the window at home, but apparently I measured incorrectly. I went from the top to the bottom of the window but the wonderful associate at Lowes taught me that I need to measure from the inside of the window. Well that makes total sense.
I was worried that with incorrect measurements (doh!) I would get the wrong size. She pulled out a set from the stack and showed me how she can cut the ends down to fit my window perfectly with their fancy machine, right in the store!
Turns out after we (she) caught the measurement error (sort of embarrassing, I’m not gonna lie), she realized I don’t need the blinds cut at all. The 47×72″ blinds would work on my window, no need to trim the sides. Also she mentioned that if they are too long, I can go here for a video that will show me how to easily remove slats to my desired length. Now how’s that for an insider tip?
We updated the boy’s bedroom this summer so the new blinds will polish it off nicely. I can’t wait to show you how awesome they look in their room!
Special thanks to my friends at Lowes and Sverve for sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% mine.
