It’s Friday!! Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?
Ok, you got me. I’m not a big football fan, but I am a fan of getting together with friends and family with lots of food!
Our house is always the place to be for gametime, and it’s always a good time! I whipped up a batch of Football Ice Cream Sandwiches to serve up this weekend.
Whether they’re watching college or professional, the boys in my house will love to cool off their hot wing burned tongues with these!
Football Ice Cream Sandwiches
You can put these together in just a few minutes, so you won’t miss a play! To save on time, decorate the sticks sometime during the week.
Decorated Craft Sticks
Materials:
Craft sticks (get them at Michaels)
Shape tape (Chevron pattern)
Acrylic paint (in green, like a football field!)
Sharpie (black or silver)
Sponge applicator
Directions:
Add the tape to the craft sticks, paint the bottom spaces (allow for plenty of non painted surface to insert into the sandwich).
Add a football ‘play’ onto the craft sticks with the Sharpie.
Football Ice Cream Sandwiches
Ingredients
6 premade ice cream sandwiches
1 12 oz. bag of mini chocolate chips
White icing
Directions:
Place the chocolate chips on to a shallow plate and dip the top and sides of the sandwiches into them. With a sharp knife, pierce through the bottom of the sandwich, and put the craft stick in it as far as it goes without showing from the top side.
Top your ‘footballs’ with the icing, one vertical stripe down the center, and several horizontal, to look like a real ball.
Place them on a platter and keep them in the freezer until they are ready to be served. Once they’re on display, they will not last long! Even though it’s chilly outside, there is always a heat up when football is on, keep your fans cool with a tasty treat!
