Now that the kids are nestled safely in their classroom desks, we will soon be flooded with endless amounts of paperwork. Sign up for the PTA! Donate to the latest fundraiser, classroom rules, permission slips, and so on. Many of these papers we can read and toss. Many, many of them however need to be signed and sent back to school. Where do these forms live in the meantime? Yup, on the kitchen island, entry way tables, coffee tables..EVERY.WHERE!
Mod Podge Clipboards
I don’t have tons of space but I do have a small chalkboard wall that I had painted onto the side of my pantry a few years ago. With a wee bit of imagination and a quick trip to Michaels, I came up with a mini-command center to organize my kid’s school paperwork and keep it organized!
Materials:
Clip Boards (one for each kid)
Craft paper
Mod Podge
Foam brush
Washi tape (optional)
Command Hooks (to hold 3-5 lbs.)
Jute twine
Die Cut machine (I use my Cricut)
See the chevron burlap ribbon in that pic? I didn’t end up using it for this project, but it ended up on my fall wreath!
Directions:
Cut the craft paper to size and using the Mod Podge adhere it to the clipboard, cutting off any excess. Embellish with washi tape if you like!

Allow to dry completely.
Tip: Unscrew the metal part before adding the craft paper, and screw it back on once the paper is fully dry.
Using your die cut machine (i.e., Cricut), cut out your kid’s names, and place one name on each clipboard (on the top metal base).
Add one of the command hooks to the bottom center of one of the clipboards. Secure some twine to the top (back) loop of the other clipboard with knots and hang it on to the Command hook.
Add another Command Hook to the wall. Tie a similar knot to the top metal loop of the other clipboard and hang it to the wall hook.
Using your Cricut and adhesive vinyl, cut out shapes and designs to decorate the rest of your chalkboard or wall, like these arrows I used!
Now you have a space to keep those pesky papers that you need to fill out and send back. You won’t lose them now! And with Command Hooks you can remove the clipboards at the end of the school year without making a mark on your walls.
How are you getting yourself organized for the new school year?
