Happy New Year my friends! I hope this new year brings you lots of joy and that you embrace every new opportunity that comes your way. Before we get to experience all the blessings that a new year promises, we must first plan out our resolutions, did you make any this year? Organizing my craft supplies is at the top of my list every year. I have so much stuff in that closet, seriously, there are some days I can’t even shut the door. I wish I was kidding! That is a huge task that will be tackled very soon, however even more difficult for me is transporting my supplies to my craft space. See, I don’t have a designated craft room, all of my supplies reside in a hall closet on one end of the house. I carry my supplies clear across the house to my sun room where I usually work on my projects, although I sometimes end up on my dining room table. I am thrilled that my Michaels’ Maker Challenge this month is organizing, I was able to get everything I need to create a Portable Crafting Station and now I can easily take all of the supplies I need from point A (craft closet) to point B (any available table in the house).
Portable Craft Station
Michaels just launched a new line of storage and organization product called Cre8ted Spaces available in stores now and it has tons of different colors, bins and office supplies – with more than 300 new items in 4 coordinating colors, you have to check it out! I had a hard time choosing but I settled on a white cart, with a bright green bin, 2 blue containers from the Cre8ted line, a cute white trash bin, and bright green accessories including mini magnetic containers. I added some wicker baskets also from Michaels because I love the contrast!
I can transport ribbons, glue guns, washi tape, a yarn assortment, Mod Podge and so much more easily. It’s really great to not have to make umpteen trips back to the craft closet to get everything I need.
The trash bin is great because I can toss my scraps in there and just stack in on top of the cart. I can empty it on my way back to the closet. It’s large enough to fit all of my crafty trash :) but not big and bulky.
How cute are these magnetic accessory holders?! They’ll hold smaller things like clips and labels, and they ‘stick’ right to the edge of the metal cart for easy access.
When I am done I can just wheel it back into the closet as is. Of course first I need to clean out some space in there. Like I said, it’s on my list for 2016!
Are you inspired to organize your own space? Start the year off right! Michaels has tons of products and storage supplies that can be used to decorate and inspire creativity in any space in your home or office.
