‘Tis the season for to spend time with friends and family. We’re all so busy this time of year, it’s really nice to get to share an afternoon with loved ones. Some of us are planning parties and gatherings, others are finding themselves planning for unexpected guests. ‘Tis the season to be jolly, right? Of course it is, and you can remain full of holiday cheer if you plan ahead for such instances! I really do love having people over, planned or not, but when it’s the latter, and it’s the holidays, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. My favorite is setting up an easy cookie and hot chocolate bar. Sounds complicated, but I promise it is uber simple. Some store bought cookies on a platter, a few pretty holiday inspired mugs on a small table will get you started. Toss in some mini marshmallows that you likely already have in your pantry from all the holiday baking you’ve been doing, and some candy canes from your secret stash (ha!). Top it off with a carton of International Delight ready to drink hot chocolate in Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate flavors, to make the prettiest and easiest Hot Chocolate Bar ever!
This is brand new from International Delight this year. Your guests can pour their own hot chocolate already made, straight from the container, heat and enjoy in no time at all. I am also making sure to keep these on hand all season because my kids love that they can make their own hot chocolate without help. They love the milk chocolate flavor and us grown ups love the dark chocolate.
Because we are blessed to live in sunny southern California where the coldest months still won’t keep us indoors, I like to set up the hot chocolate bar outside by the patio. A small side table with a large cutting board resting on it for ample space to hold everything will make things things easily accessible for everyone. It’s always a big hit!
Now you know how to prep for unexpected guests with holiday staples you already have in your pantry, and what will become your newest addiction, International Delight Hot Chocolate. Trust me on that one!
Head over to InternationalDelight.com and share how International Delight captures the spirit of your holiday season. You’ll have a chance to win a holiday brunch for you and your loved ones, and you can even plan this one ahead of time :)
