Easy Silver Polish Hack
I have always loved silver. Whether I’m wearing it or displaying it around the house, my eye is always drawn to the beautiful look of sterling silver. It’s classic and timeless, adding a finishing touch to any decor or outfit. The only problem with real sterling silver is that is tarnishes…like alot! Exposed to the elements, indoors and out, it’ll turn dark and dingy in a matter of several months. Since my teen years I have polished my silver pieces (mostly jewelry) myself. I use a very common household staple, a paper towel and a hint of elbow grease to get my silver from cruddy to sparkling in a few minutes! It’s never occurred to me to buy silver polish, no need when I have the easiest Silver Polish Hack around!
All you need to get your silver from drab to fab is: TOOTHPASTE! Any kind, even the cheap stuff will do.
Place a dollop of toothpaste onto a paper towel or cheesecloth and apply liberally to the object you are polishing. Press into it in the areas that are more tarnished than others.
You should notice the difference right away. Make your way around the entire piece and when done, rinse it with cool water, then pat dry. Go back and work on any areas you may have missed and repeat the process.
How easy was that?! The weathered silver pitcher is restored to its glorious shine! I display this pitcher so I polish it every 6 months or so. For silverware or jewelry that you don’t use daily, I’d recommend a quick polish just before use.
And that’s how I polish my silver! All with toothpaste from the dollar store, and in about 10 minutes flat. The innocent looking tube of toothpaste in your medicine cabinet works as a sneaky double agent–hmmm, what else can this amazing little hack tool do?

It can take water marks off furniture…..just use white toothpaste…..leave it on mark for a bit, then wipe off
