Thanks to my friends at Floracraft for sponsoring this post!
When you are looking for abstract art or something different to put on your walls, don’t look further than your local craft store. When I was looking for something fun to hang up in my hallway, I thought I could DIY something that will work well with the nearby rooms, but not be partial to any particular one. It couldn’t be too juvenile like my kid’s room, or too grown up like our master bedroom. I came up with this creative idea to use a Floracraft foam head, duck tape, and fabric swatches to make artwork that will flow well with the rest of the space. Read on for the tutorial!
Foam Head Art
Materials:
Floracraft foam head (get yours at Michaels or Jo-Ann stores)
Duck tape in your favorite pattern
Fabric swatches (or remnants)
Fun picture frame (this one is from Michaels)
Glue (any type)
Hacksaw or electric knife
Directions:
Using a hacksaw or electric knife, cut the foam head in half along the seam.
Step 1: Line the fabric swatches over the glass insert on your frame, and glue them in place.
Step 2: Cover the foam head face in duck tape.
Step 3: Glue the head on to the front of the frame.
Easy art in under 30 minutes, can’t beat that!
I love using unusual items to create fun, and interesting art pieces. What can you make with a Floracraft foam head?
