A few weeks ago I shared part of my kitchen and dining space makeover where I used Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan on my kitchen island and stools. I am so in love with chalk paint® I am having a hard time NOT painting everything in sight!
Another piece I painted was a kitchen cabinet I found on Craigslist a couple of years ago.
Craigslist Cabinet Makeover {Part 2} with Chalk Paint®
This cabinet was an old piece in great shape, just needed a good scrub and a little love.
{Pardon the pics–they’re from my early blogging days. I like to think my photography is improving, although I’m always a novice!}
So I had to give it some love; grey and white stripes, and some new acrylic knobs.
The stripes were painted on the ‘old fashioned’ way…sanding, priming, distressing, etc. I still love the way it turned out!
Notice the ultra dark grey walls in the background. The recent kitchen makeover was intended to lighten and brighten, so when the dark wall paint went, I knew I had to do something different to my beloved Craigslist Cabinet.
I gave it a good cleaning, and using my awesome Annie Sloan paint brush, two coats of Chalk Paint® in Duck Egg, and a light coat of polyurethane is all it took to get a much needed new look.
Finished it off with some accessorizing by way of inexpensive candle holders from another room, fall gourds from the grocery store, and a small copper tea kettle from the thrift store.
My kitchen space is almost done, and I can’t wait to show you the big ‘before and after’ reveal. You should’ve seen what the kitchen looked like when we first bought the house. Two words: sponge, paint! Um, yeah!
I’m hooked on Chalk Paint® and have so many more projects planned!
Have you tried Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan?

Great makeover, and YES, I love chalk paint too! After using it the first time, I’ve wondered why I hadn’t tried it before, and thought of all those times I spent sanding, priming, coating, ugh.
Great job, thanks for sharing :)

Thank you Molly! I can’t believe I spent all those valuable hours sanding and priming either! I will now be chalk painting anything I can get my hands on lol!
