Hey, hey Chase The Star peeps! I’m Jessica, and I blog at Mom 4 Real! I’m so excited to hang with y’all today! I’m a mom in Kentucky that loves to make really big changes on a real life budget. One of my favorite things to use to make changes in my home are throw pillows. I love them! The only problem? They can get a little pricey. So, I usually just find one I love, then make it myself! My latest find was a cute little chevron pillow with a burlap band around it…super cute, but I wanted just a bit more. Let me show you how easy it was to dress up my little chevron pillow using a little burlap, a stencil, and some paint!
Stenciled Burlap Chevron Pillow
I started by figuring out which stencil I wanted to use…stencils are sooo wonderful, because they can really help you change the look of anything, and can be used over and over again! I picked this clock mixed media stencil from DecoArt for this project…isn’t it cool?
I used a stencil brush and dabbed over the stencil onto the chevron band. (Make sure to wrap the burlap banding around your pillow to make sure it will slide over.) Once the stenciling was finished I pulled the stencil straight up.
Then I let the paint dry for a bit…probably about 20 minutes. Once the paint had dried, I wrapped my burlap band around the pillow and hot glued one end of the band to the other. This way you can pull the band up if you want to use your pillows without it!
Now my couch is happy, and so am I! The chevron fabric is from onlinefabricstores.net, the burlap banding is from Michael’s, and the stencil is from Dec0Art.
So…what do you think? Wanna make your own?
I love this Stenciled Burlap Chevron Pillow Jessica, and you make it look so simple! Thank you for sharing with us!
