Hello friends!
As you know I spent the latter part of last week in Utah at the Snap Conference. For those of you unfamiliar with Snap, this is a blogger’s conference where we go to interact with other bloggers, meet with brands, take classes to improve our skills, and best of all, HAVE.SO.MUCH.FUN! I did just that. All of that!
This year’s theme was ‘create joy’…and boy did we!
I’ve been blogging for just over a year, so other than a few local blogging events this was my first ever big conference. This trip was very special for me because I got to meet my CHQ girls in person! My friends, Sarah, Meredith, and Jill and I started a small group to help each other learn and grow our blogs about a year ago. That lead to our collaborative blog, and to an amazing friendship. They are the BEST! Meeting them was seamless and just awesome! Hands down the very best part of the conference for me!
Sarah, myself, Meredith (and baby), and Jill
There were so many activities planned for us!
First up was a door decorating contest where we got to get creative and decorate our hotel room doors.
We didn’t win, but I will say, Sarah and Jill did a great job creating the concept, and making it happen!
There was also a Pajama Party where we got to make fun crafts (cause that’s what we do, you know?).
Also, there were great classes taught by the most brilliant and experienced bloggers out there, fun dinners, opportunities to meet with sponsors, and just so much more.
I was teamed-up with 4 other creative bloggers to be part of the Lowes ‘Ready Set, Create’ Challenge, where we were given some tools and materials and had an hour to come up with something amazing.
We made a potting bench!
We didn’t have nails or multiple drill bits, so I had to hammer in the screws! My arm hurt for days later, but my team was awesome, and they got the job done! We had no advance planning or even a hint of what materials we’d have or what was expected of us, which was part of the fun! I checked off my “work out ” for the day after this challenge-I was sweating bullets when it ended. It was SO FUN!!!!
My teammates were:
Leanne from Organize Your Stuff Now
Brooke from Crafting Chicks (not pictured)
Bev from Flamingo Toes
Kara from Mine for the Making
GO TEAM!
Another fun higlight was hanging with other creative bloggers:
1. Jen from Tatertots and Jello 2.Ana White 3.Desiree from The 36th Avenue 4. Meredith, Jill from Create.Craft.Love, and Lindsay from Artsy Fartsy Mama
5.Jessica from Mom 4 Real, Jill, Sarah from Becoming Martha, Jen from Tatertots and Jello, Kelly from Live, Laugh, Rowe, Meredith from Wait Til Your Father Gets Home
6. Kelly from Live, Laugh, Rowe 7. Johnnie from Saved By Love Creations 8. Jill from Create.Craft.Love
For those of you DIY lovers; YES that is THE Ana White!!! She taught a Power Tools class sponsored by Ryobi that was phenomenal! I was honored to be in the same breathing space as every single one of these inspirational women. Seriously, I’m just not worthy!
We were indoors most of the conference. I didn’t stay extra time after the conference to take in some of the Utah sights so I took scenery shots from the hotel when I could. Utah is gorgeous! Next time I will plan for more sight seeing for sure!
After a fun 4 days it was ready to pack up and head home to my boys, I’d missed them so much! My luggage was extremely overweight ($$) thanks to all the swag I brought back from Snap!
I’ll pack smarter next time, but not lighter. Just, can’t do it.
It was a blessing to go to Snap, I definitely recommend a blogging conference if you are a blogger!
…And now the countdown begins for Snap 2014!

{I apologize for the poor quality pics in this post, most of these were taken from my cell phone because I was too busy mingling to take out my real camera :) }
