Hello lovelies! Today I woke up before the sun to slightly warmer temps.
After dawn finally broke, it made for a gorgeous spring morning. There is something about the quiet stillness at this time of the day that revitalizes me, I cherish mornings like these.
For the last several months I have been making it a point to get up earlier to prep for the long day ahead. Most women complain about not having much time to themselves, and I am certainly no exception.
An earlier start to the morning allows for time to care for myself physically, mentally, and spiritually, which in turn enables me to care for everyone else.

As a mother, wife, corporate worker, and blogger my time is very limited. Starting the day off with a solid morning routine is the best way for me to make sure I am set, no matter what hurdles I have to jump over later in the day!
A little glimpse of my morning…
5:30 a.m. Wake up and DO NOT HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON. Change into workout clothes and head downstairs and hit the ‘brew’ button on the coffeemaker. Drink a quick cup of coffee, don’t forget to brush teeth.
5:45 a.m. Head out the door to barre class just a few short miles away. Don’t forget to put on grippy barre socks, and flip flops for that matter!
6-7:00 a.m. Lift, tone, and burn at barre class. Leave with sense of accomplishment, and sore muscles.
7:15-7:40 a.m. Quickly shower and change into work clothes, make lunches. Sit with a second cup of coffee and read devotional and a few bible verses.
7:40-8:05 a.m. Wake son up, make sure he gets dressed while I make his breakfast. He eats and brushes teeth, then we are out to the door for school drop off!
8:20-8:40 a.m. Back home I quickly whip a healthy smoothie with my Ninja Blender (recipe below), put on my make up, and try to do something to make my hair look presentable. This smoothie is great to replenish the energy used during my workout, and gives me plenty of morning fuel. I’m usually full until lunch time!
If I have a few minutes to spare I work on the blog. I edit pictures, share on social media, or finish up a post. Sometimes I skip all of that and just read fun blogs!
Blueberry Protein Smoothie
There is no better way to start your day than with a high protein smoothie. This Blueberry Protein Smoothie is a healthy breakfast, whether you are looking for weight loss recipes, or just something fast and delicious on your way out the door every morning!
Don’t forget to PIN it!
I am out the door by 8:40-45 and headed to my full time job. Before even starting the work day, I’ve already been up and about for over 3 hours!
Making ‘me time’ a priority first thing in the morning is the only way to get any time for myself at all. In the afternoons there is dinner, chores, homework, sports activities, etc. and an early bedtime if I want to do it all again tomorrow!

Every morning is different at my house other than getting the kids out the door. I should be more regular and actually have a routine. I need to try that smoothie! Thanks for sharing :)

It’s the same here–but we’re out the door by 4:45 for swim practice with my teenage son! I’ve learned to do a lot in the morning and feel very accomplished. I do a berry smoothie, too, and I love how it makes me feel like I’ve taken care of myself before the day even starts.
