DIY Glitter Snowflake Ornament
If you ask me, the best ornaments on the tree are handmade ornaments. While store bought ornaments can be pretty, I love Christmas trees that are full of decorations and ornaments that are personal and special to the family. These DIY ornaments are not only easy to make in about 30 minutes or so, but they are individually personalized. Much like no snowflake is the exactly the same, no one member of the family is exactly like the other!
Make some for your family!
Wood and Burlap ornaments (Michaels has them in the wood section)
Glitter Iron-On vinyl
Cutting Machine (I used my Cricut Explore)
Acrylic paint and small brush (optional)
Choose the snowflakes you like in Cricut’s Design Space and create your names in the font of your choice. Cut them out making sure to set your machine to cut in ‘mirror image’.
Position the snowflake over the ornament, liner side up.
Using an iron on the high setting (no steam), gently press the hot iron over the liner, following instructions on the vinyl.
Peel the plastic liner off.
Paint the edges (optional)
This time of year shimmer and sparkle is everywhere, that roll of Iron-On Glitter will definitely come in handy! When you can make several ornaments in under 30 minutes, there’s no end to what you can do!
