Happy Monday everyone! Are you ready for some football? Just under a week ’til Superbowl Sunday, I love this day! Ok, so I’m not a football fan by any stretch of the imagination, but hey, I love a party, and I can’t wait for the commercials!
On Superbowl Sunday, I typically spend my time in my kitchen with my friends, chatting it up, and keeping the appetizer platters full. This year we’re a small group so I decided to sit, relax, and enjoy the big game (and commercials), and keep it simple!
Here’s the plan: Store bought wings, easy appetizers like chips, salsa, dips, and plenty of drinks.
Easy Superbowl Sunday Set Up
Since we’re just a few this year, and I’m going with easy food, I thought I’d make a little something special ahead of time for our friends.
Personalized Pilsner Glass
Materials:
Pilsner Glasses {beer glasses}
Sharpie Markers {I bought a pack of 4 in metallics}
Vinyl stickers or anything you can use to trace their names {optional}
Directions:
I cut out their names in adhesive vinyl with a die-cut machine (I use a Cricut), and placed them on glass, about a half inch down from the rims. You can use vinyl stickers, or just free hand it if you’re brave!
Next I traced and filled in the letters using the Sharpies. Tip: fill it in normally, but then go over it in dots {remember ‘Pointillism’ from Art History class?}. This will keep the strokes from showing, and give it more even coverage.
Once that was dry to the touch, I removed the adhesive vinyl. I set my oven at 200°, and baked the glasses on a cookie sheet for 45 minutes. I later removed the glasses from the oven, and allowed them to set for about 24 hours. This should set the ink so that it doesn’t run and can be washed by hand!
I love this DIY Personalized Pilsner Glass because it’s such a versatile gift. Not only will it work for the Superbowl, but for Father’s Day, a birthday or anniversary, basically any time you want to give a guy a cool gift. Give them a gift they really want; a place to hold their beer (or soda) on game day!
Word of the day is: EASY!
The bean dip recipe is very easy to make, and best of all you can make it ahead of time and keep it refrigerated in your Rubbermaid for a couple of days before serving.
We are not rooting for any team in particular..ahem :)
How simple is that recipe? It’s semi-homemade {my fave kind}, and you can substitute the ingredients to lower fat versions to make it healthier!
I’m excited to get to spend some time on the couch this Sunday instead of in the kitchen. If you plan on joining me in my efforts as a couch potato this Sunday, then start planning now!
Enjoy an easy game day!
So where are you watching the Superbowl this Sunday?

I get it – Broncos are your team! I think they will win. I like your idea to keep it simple. Good plan. That way you can actually watch the game. We’re having a party at Tumbleweed Contessa and I’d love for you to link this blog.
Have a Super week and enjoy the game,
Linda
