Are you counting down the days till Christmas yet? I am very focused on the upcoming turkey related holiday, but who are we kidding, jingle bells will start ringing in just a couple of weeks!
I’ll admit I haven’t officially started decorating for Christmas but I have so many great plans already {swimming around in my head}! The official first holiday craft of the year at my house is this adorbs Christmas Dish Towel.
Simple and so cute, right?
I used my Cricut Mini and their line of fabulous new tools to make this towel in no time!
Make your own Christmas Dish Towel!
Materials:
1/4 yd. of terry cloth or fabric of your choice. I used muslin.
Cutting machine {and mat}
Cricut Iron-On
Cricut Basic Tools set
Iron
Directions:
Make the towel {check out this ‘no-sew’ tutorial}.
Design your image; I used a Christmas cartridge to design the ‘joy’ lettering. Place the iron-on vinyl shiny-side down onto the mat. Making sure to ‘flip it’ to show the wording or image backwards, use your Cricut to cut it out.
Using the basic tools set, carefully weed the vinyl off of the mat. Set the image onto the fabric right side up. With a the iron on the hottest setting, press down over the image for about 10 seconds. Then turn the fabric inside out and press the iron down for about 20-30 seconds. Turn the fabric again and press it with the iron one more time. Let it cool, and peel off the clear coating.
So easy!
This may end up being a gift, if I can part with it! I think my next iron-on project may be a pillow!
Have you started your holiday crafting?
