Can you believe it’s Halloween already? Is it me or does time just seem to fly by as we get older?!
Besides running around trying to get ready for Halloween this weekend, I had a great time painting my new Cut It Out frames!
Cut It Out makes frames, letters, and words that can make a unique statement in your home. I love that they’re unfinished so you can get really creative in how you dress them up!
You can paint them any color, or you can go simple like I did, with a cream color, and a little ‘aging’.
Cut It Out Frames
Painting and Distressing my Cut It Out Frames
My Cut It Out frames were distressed and aged in a jiffy! First thing was painting–I used 2 coats of super fast drying chalk paint®, no primer needed! If you aren’t using this type of paint, then I’d suggest priming first! Then using a paper towel I added a light coat of dark wax to each frame. I quickly sanded most of it off, leaving the paint looking vintage.
Lastly, I opted to frame some pretty Annie Sloan fabric instead of a traditional picture {come back next week to see another way I used this amazing fabric}. The fabric is adhered to the backing of the frame with double sided tape!
The french doors in my dining room needed something to flank them on either side, and my new Cut It Out frames fit perfectly!
You can paint, stencil, embellish them, and more. Make a pretty gallery wall, add some to your craft room, kid’s room, any room! Check out what the talented Jen at Tatertots and Jello did with her Cut It Out Frames, she made a pegboard organizational wall! The options are endless.
