Hi All of you CTS Readers! Isn’t Barbara just amazing?? I love her talent and creativity! I am honored to be a guest blogger here with you today.
My name is Meegan and I love to blog at What Meegan Makes.
I love anything DIY, don’t you?
I thought I would share one of my most recent DIY projects today. This is my DIY Personalized Beach Art. It’s really easy, rustic and looks great in any home.
(Easy and looks great are what I love!)
1.I bought a frame at the thrift store for $3. Not my choice of picture-But I am ready to fix that.
I turned over the print and used the backside for my DIY Personalized Beach Art
2. I got out all of my fave colors of paint, along with all of my stencils. I love blues and some greens. Perfect for beach art, right?
3.Using the lighter colors and a sponge brush I painted the background. It’s not smooth or perfect. Just fun. I used antique gray as the main base color, with other colors coming through. After the paint was almost dry, I got to work with my stencils, again using my sponge brush. I began listing all of our favorite beaches, so it would be personalized. Using different sizes, fonts and colors I went to work.
4.I didn’t want it perfect. I left most of my imperfections. I wanted it to be a piece of beach art. As you can see with the lighter colors I outlined with a pen. Yep, a regular green ink pen.
This is a closer look, so you can see the imperfectness of this project.
On some of the names I layered the stencil, for an older, worn look.
Another close up, so you can see that I didn’t clean up a few of my messes.
And here she is! My own DIY Personalized Beach Art!! I love it. I hope you will make one soon and let me know all about it!
Thanks again to Barbara at Chase The Star for having me today. It has been a pleasure and I hope you will all pay me a visit very soon over at:
