Updated Stairway Gallery Wall

Happy Monday friends! Hope your weekend was great! I got caught up on some shopping and errands. I also finally took some pics of the Stairway Gallery Wall that I had updated about a month ago {procrastinate much?}.

Last year as I was getting used to my ‘new’ home, I  made a Stairway Gallery Wall to showcase the kid’s school pictures and some of my art, like the ‘You Are My Sunshine’ thriftstore chargers.

I really did love the look, but this summer I thought I’d change it up a bit by painting the frames in a dark glossy grey.  I’m really loving the combination of charcoal and bright yellow right now.

On the perpendicular wall, I placed this fabulous and HUGE (58×30″) canvas chalkboard map.  I actually won it at a raffle from the great folks at Basic Grey at the SNAP Conference back in April. I never win anything, so of course I told everyone on Instagram the second it arrived in the mail!  It was my MOMENT 🙂  The minute I saw it I just knew it would be perfect for the large and very empty stairway.

Underneath it is the Father’s Day Gift I made for the hubs. It’s so special to me!  The center is a pic of my husband as a 6 year old with each of our boys on either side, same pose, all in full baseball uniform.  By far my favorite project to date!

These two work really well with the updated picture gallery, wouldn’t you agree? 🙂

I did make a couple of updates…I removed the wood piece above the gallery, and I updated the arrow ‘beach’ sign.  I painted it over with chalkboard paint and wrote the word ‘blessed’ on it because we are (and loved!).

The wall across still holds the kid’s artwork.  There’s no changing that–it’ll continue to fill up as long as they’re making us art.  I’ll be so sad when that stops (sooner than I imagine- sadly, I know)!

I think I’ll add something over the gallery wall…maybe something rustic like fun antlers, who knows!  We’ll see what I decide in the Fall, as for now, I’m enjoying the updated look!

What do you do to give the spaces in your home a quick spruce up?
