As we’re smack in the middle of summer, I can’t help but think ahead to the upcoming school year. I know the kids won’t be happy to hear that, but hey, I’m a planner! My little guy will be starting Kindergarten, which blows my mind, because I feel like I just gave birth, but that’s a post for another day! He’s almost 5 1/2 and so bright! He’s athletic, very coordinated, intelligent, and overall a very cool kid.

One thing that he has not ‘mastered’ however, is the art of keeping himself dry at night. He was fully potty trained by 2 1/2, but we’ve never quite been able to get him to wake up and go at night. He sleeps like a rock!
I know that the time has come to conquer this hurdle once and for all.
Our ‘New and Improved’ Bedtime Potty Training Routine:
Go potty just before bed.
No drinks within the last hour before going to sleep.
Just before Mommy and Daddy go to bed, he’s woken up and made to go again.
Another thing we’ve begun to incorporate into our routine is Goodnites Bedtime Underwear. This isn’t the first time we’ve used this type of protection at bedtime, but this is the first time that he’s waking up dry more frequently. That is a victory!

After an exhausting Sunday of running around and being a kid, he fell asleep early on the couch. Every Mom knows that you do NOT wake your child up if they fall asleep at night without a bath, otherwise you set yourself up for the longest.night.EVER. So I did what any sane Mom would do, I wiped him down {bath in the morning}, threw my ‘new bedtime potty training routine’ out the window and put him in bed. I slipped a pair of Goodnites Bedtime Underwear on him, and I know I can trust his bed will be dry through the night. Knowing I won’t have to wash the sheets in the morning is great peace of mind.
{Talk about a Superhero conflict going on there, as he wears a Batman shirt, and Spiderman Goodnites Bedtime Underwear!}
We’re making some progress every day. I know it’s a matter of time before he starts to wake up at night, go potty, and wake up completely dry. In the meantime we’ve got Goodnites Bedtime Underwear to make sure his jammies, sheets, and bed coverings remain in tact through the night!
Don’t forget to print out the coupon–you’ll save $1.50 when you buy any Goodnites products at Target!
Have you conquered the night time potty training battle?

I am so happy to hear that not all kids are night time trained young. My daughter was, but not my son…we are still working on that.. I do love these night time underwear though! My son thinks they look soooo cool!
Barbara @ Chase the Star says
So does mine, he loves that Spiderman is on them! I think boys take longer to do this than boys…so I think we’re ok so far!

I really hope that it finally just clicks. I think that’s what happened with each of my kiddos. It just clicked and the woke up in the night. Great post by the way!
Barbara @ Chase the Star says
Thank you Chrissy! I hope you’re right!!

We are in the midst of PTing my 2.5 year old son now, and we just went full into it. A bunch of things I read said to just get rid of diapers no matter what, and especially don’t turn to pullups (since they cant feel it)…so far so good! Good luck!
Barbara @ Chase the Star says
We did great without training pants for day time training…he sleeps like a rock and will not wake up for anything, so even feeling the wetness isn’t enough to get him up! Slowly but surely, we’re doing it!

This is great, Barbara! This post couldn’t be timed any better. Mia is potty training now…gah!
