So a couple of weeks ago I told you about my plans to makeover my boys’ bedroom as I {virtually} window shopped at The Land of Nod. Well last week, they opened at Southcoast Plaza here in Orange County, CA. Guess who got to go to their private grand opening party? Oh yeah–MOI! I was so excited to be chosen to attend this VIP event, it was a blast!
The store’s official opening was the following day, so a few of us local bloggers were able to get a sneak peek beforehand, and do a little shopping!
The store is BEAUTIFUL! It’s like walking into the catalog, just awesome!
There’s the beautiful nursery section at the front of the store. Note the fab teal wall with bright yellow door. Swoon!
Further in they have several girl’s rooms set up. Seriously people, if I had a little girl, I’d just wrap up one of these room’s to go. Just adorable!
Look at that pretty shandy! Love!
This coral room is my favorite. I mean seriously, coral AND hot pink? Yes, please! Throw in my beloved turquoise and some yellow and you have yourself the prettiest room in all the land {of Nod}!
I noticed that a few of their walls had pictures and other decor covering the entire wall from floor to ceiling. I love that idea!
Alas, I have boys, so I was on the hunt for something way cool for their room.
Clever storage!
I’m changing things around in their room but I haven’t quite settled on how to update their color scheme, so I stuck with the basics. I got them some new bedding! A grey and white striped duvet cover and pillows with their first initials on them.
They have bunk beds, but who ever looks at the top bunk? I like both pillows on the lower bunk.
Check the cool Boston Red Sox comforter we got my stepson—8 years ago. I couldn’t even iron the wrinkles out..that thing has had it!
Light and fresh!
I may go back and get the shams at the Land of Nod store. Although I was hoping to do something different with those, as soon as I figure things out for this room. These sports inspired shams will do for now. Or I may go get them. I need to make a decision!
I will share the updated room on the blog as soon as it’s done!
The Land of Nod store has everything you need for your kid’s rooms and playrooms. My favorite item in the entire store was this art table! It has a roller that releases paper for your youngin’s to doodle on.
GENIUS! That map rug is also calling my name:)
But the party isn’t a ‘party’ without friends, right?
I was so happy to get to hang out with my girls too!
Clockwise from the left:
Tara from A Spectacled Owl and her lovely daughter, myself, Angelina from Jojo and Eloise, Chelsea from Making Home Base, and Dinah from DIY Inspired.
There was also a celebrity sighting..
I got to meet one of my favorite people! HGTV’s Design Star Season 5 winner and host of the show Secrets from a Stylist, Emily Henderson! Somebody pinch me. She was so sweet and outgoing.
What a fantastic night!
If you live in or near the OC you can visit the The Land of Nod in Costa Mesa:
Now open at the South Coast Plaza (3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, CA 92626), AND you can still shop the store online of course! For more info (sales, fun announcements, room inspiration, etc.), you can also catch them on Facebook, and Pinterest!
Are you planning on update on your kid’s room any time soon?

I wanna go!! We don’t even have a nursery (just a corner of the bedroom for now), but I love all this! And we could still hang stuff on walls. It’s funny…hot air balloons are sort of the theme, and they are in both the girls’ and boys’ room. Cute. :)

Bethany if you go into this store you’re going to want to clear out your master and decorate it for your baby. There is that much wonderful stuff in there!! :)
