Happy Friday!
A couple of weeks ago I met up with a great gal and one of my favorite bloggers, Vivienne from The V Spot for lunch and some thrift store shopping at a local Habitat ReStore. There are a few of these stores local to me, but this was actually my very first visit and I loved it!
If you haven’t heard of the Habitat ReStores, the sell new and use items for your home. Furniture, accessories, building materials, hardware, vintage items, anything and everything this thrifty crafter loves to shop for, at a much lower price than regular stores. The best part is that the proceeds are used by the local Habitat for Humanity charity to build and renovate homes!
Here we are under the ‘Dummy Knobs’ sign. How appropriate! :)
I found a huge assortment of vintage windows, random cabinet doors, shelves, vintage interior doors, and lots and lots of tile.
Vivienne and I will both be attending the SNAP Conference in Utah in a couple of weeks and are part of a group of attendees that is swapping thrift store items and making something special out of them. The swappers are to buy some items at a thrift store and ship them to their swap partners. Since we’re local we decided to forego the shipping and just hit the thift store together!
We each walked away with one of these:
These lamps were $15 each! I have several ideas for mine swimming in my head, can’t wait to work on it this weekend! I’m excited to see what Viv comes up with too!
Come back on Monday to check out the tutorial.
I also bought a couple of new plastic paint buckets that I used as the boys Easter baskets {see the messy aftermath below}.
These were just $2 each…I’ve seen them at the craft stores for $10! Score!
I plan on re-using the buckets for my craft closet re-org in a few weeks {you figured as much}.
We had a great time and left the Habitat ReStore as happy as can be!
Do you have a Habitat ReStore nearby? What have you gotten there lately?

Oh, wow! I bet you were in HEAVEN, Barbara! Looks like a fun place! I’ll have to see if there is one close to me. Or, I’ll have to make my way up to that one & come see you <3

Hi Barbara!!!!
It looked like a great day together!! We don’t have a Habitat Restore here in Vancouver, BC. I think
you only have them down there in the USA. To bad because I would be the first in line.
Have a great weekend!!
Pam
